I'm Back!

After a long extended time away, I have returned.

Today, it was announced who has won the American League Gold Gloves

OF:
Ichiro (Mariners, 9th)
Adam Jones (Orioles, 1st)
Torii Hunter (Angels & Twins for 9 GG awards)

IF:
3B: Evan Longoria (Rays, 1st)
SS: Derek Jeter (Yankees, 4th)
2B: Placido Polanco (Tigers, Phillies 2nd)
1B: Mark Teixera (Rangers, Braves, Angels, Yankees, 3rd)

Batteries:
P: Mark Buerhle (White Sox, 1st)
C: (No Surprise) Joe Mauer (Twins, 2nd)

Most of these I believe have easily earned them. Jones has been incredible defensively for the Orioles. and, what can you say about Hunter and Ichiro? They are just that good.

Buerhle made 1 error this season (And a pitched a perfect game, but you know that).
and Mauer is just amazing.

Now, the infield... You get the play done with Tex and Longoria, and Placido, and Jeter may be old, but still get it done.

See ya next time.

Baseball Predictions, October 1st, 2009

Approximately 5:40 ET time here. The Rockies are stomping on the Brewers, the Twins beat the Tigers, and there is much more baseball coming later in the day.

I said yesterday I thought the Dodgers were going to clinch last night. Didn't happen. They have lost 4 in a row now, and it is not setting a good tone for the postseason.

The Twins won, putting back in striking distance, but my prediction for today is that the Tigers will win the Central Division. The Tigers need to win just one game to clinch (assuming a Twins loss) this weekend. At this point, the Twins look like they have fought their hardest, but lost.
And now the Rockies are in the playoffs, with a win over the Brewers.

Rockies
Yankees
Angels
Cardinals
Red Sox
Phillies

Who's going to get a pass to the playoffs next?

See ya! The Blog is over! Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Blog is Over!

Phillies and Dodgers Clinching

Well, what did you expect? The Phillies had five days to win one game, and right now, they're leading 10 to 3 in the 8th, you kind of expect them to clinch tonight, especially with the Braves losing 5 to 2 in the ninth.

The Dodgers haven't played yet, but I expect that after a three-game losing skid, they're thirsty to pop some corks. I'll be watching, seeing if my first prediction come to fruition, but either way, they're going to clinch sooner or later.

Also, the Race for the NL Wild Card is disappearing each and every day. The Braves were already set back yesterday, losing in close fashion to the Fish of Florida, and the Rockies rocked Coors Field with a Chris Ianetta walk-off homer. The Rox look like they might subtract two more games on their Magic Number, as they are currently leading the Brewers 5 to 4; and as the Marlins close the doors on the Braves, the Rockies can be pretty sure they're going to sleep tonight with atleast 1 game subtracted on their magic number. Teh Braves need to get hot again, and fast. It's gonna take a Yankee type walk-off victory for the Braves to hold on to their slim amount of life in the Wild Card Chase.

Twins, Twins, Twins. I've been pulling for Twins for a long time now, but with a loss (which is likely tonight) they are putting themselves in elimination position. The Tigers Magic Number will probably be down to 2, making tomorrow night a win or go home game for the Metrodome Dwellers.

Thats all for me tonight. Gonna sit back, and watch as the Phillies clinch.

"I'll seeya tommorrow night!"

Welcome to the B-P-N Blog!

Welcome to this blog! As of now, it is 9:30 ET, September 30th. Late in the Baseball season, in the thick of a pennant chase. Four teams are in; Cardinals, Yankees, Red Sox, and Angels. Who's going where? Who will clinch next?

Minnesota, or Detroit? Rockies, or Braves?
If you're trailing, you need to start winning. If you're leading, you need to keep winning. There are five days left, and the National League Wild Card, and the Central Division are ripe for the taking. Who will fight to the finish, and who will go out without a whimper?
